This community service initiative was conducted in Bocor Village, Kebumen Regency, Central Java, with the goal of enhancing public awareness about the health benefits of Citrus aurantiifolia (lime), a crop abundantly produced in the region. Although lime is produced in large quantities locally, it is frequently underutilized due to insufficient knowledge regarding its antioxidant and cancer-fighting properties. The program involved collaborations with local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and community members, incorporating educational programs, bibliometric studies, and phytochemical evaluations to highlight the health benefits of lime. Key compounds such as flavonoids, vitamin C, and phenolic acids were discussed, along with their functions in lessening oxidative stress and preventing tumor formation. The outreach focused on lime's capacity for chronic disease prevention and its relationship with traditional healing practices. Additionally, the initiative explored the potential for transforming lime and its by-products into value-added goods while applying green extraction methods for sustainable product development. By aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), the project strengthened the community and encouraged the responsible use of biopharmaceutical resources. This initiative demonstrated that culturally relevant and scientifically-based education can fill knowledge gaps and motivate local health advancements. This model serves as a framework that can be adopted in other regions seeking to combine health education with sustainable resource management.
