Author Guideline

Authors are invited to submit original papers to the International Conference on Community Engagement for Sustainability (ICoCES-2026). The submitted manuscripts should address issues related to community engagement, sustainability, empowerment, innovation, and interdisciplinary practices that contribute to social, economic, environmental, educational, health, governance, technological, or cultural development.

1. General Requirements

All submitted papers must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The manuscript should present clear objectives, relevant literature, appropriate methodology, findings or discussion, and a meaningful contribution to community engagement and sustainability.

Papers must be written in clear academic English or Bahasa Indonesia, depending on the accepted language policy of the conference committee. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript has been carefully proofread before submission.

2. Manuscript Template

Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the official ICoCES-2026 paper template. Manuscripts that do not follow the required format may be returned to the authors for revision before being processed for review.

The manuscript should generally include the following sections:

  • Title

  • Author name(s) and affiliation(s)

  • Abstract

  • Keywords

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review or Related Work

  • Method

  • Results and Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • Acknowledgment, if any

  • References

Authors should ensure that the title is concise and reflects the main focus of the paper. The abstract should briefly describe the background, objective, method, key findings, and contribution of the study. Keywords should represent the main concepts of the paper.

3. Scope of Submission

ICoCES-2026 welcomes papers related to, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Education and capacity building

  • Health and wellbeing

  • Food security and quality assurance

  • Environmental sustainability

  • Economic empowerment and entrepreneurship

  • Social and cultural engagement

  • Governance and policy support

  • Engineering and technology for community development

  • Foreign language studies and community engagement

Papers addressing other relevant aspects of community engagement and sustainability are also encouraged.

4. Formatting Guidelines

Authors must follow the formatting style provided in the official manuscript template, including page layout, font style, heading format, table and figure format, citation style, and reference format.

Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially and referred to clearly in the text. Each table and figure should have a concise title or caption. Images, diagrams, and charts must be clear and readable.

References must be complete, accurate, and consistently formatted according to the citation style required in the official template. Authors are strongly encouraged to use recent and relevant references from reputable academic sources.

5. Submission Procedure

Manuscripts must be submitted through the official submission system or submission link provided by the ICoCES-2026 committee. Authors should ensure that all required information, including author details, paper title, abstract, keywords, and manuscript file, is completed correctly during submission.

The full paper submission deadline is 10 August 2026. Authors are advised to submit their manuscripts before the deadline to allow sufficient time for administrative checking and review.

6. Review and Acceptance

All submitted papers will undergo an initial screening by the conference committee to check their relevance to the conference scope, compliance with the template, and basic publication requirements. Eligible papers will then be reviewed by reviewers or members of the scientific committee.

The review will consider the relevance of the topic, originality, clarity of objectives, methodological quality, discussion, contribution, writing quality, and conformity with the conference template. The decision may be accepted, accepted with revision, or rejected.

The acceptance notification will be announced by 10 September 2026. Authors whose papers are accepted with revision must revise and resubmit their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments and the deadline given by the committee.

7. Publication

Accepted papers that have completed the review process, revision process, and registration payment will be published in the official ICoCES-2026 ISSN-proceeding. Only papers presented at the conference and meeting all publication requirements will be included in the proceedings.

The committee reserves the right to exclude papers from publication if the authors fail to complete the required revision, registration, presentation, or publication requirements.

8. Presentation Requirement

At least one author of each accepted paper must register and present the paper at ICoCES-2026. The conference provides opportunities for presentation through on-site and online formats. Presentation details, schedule, and technical instructions will be informed by the committee.

9. Ethical Requirements

Authors must follow the publication ethics of ICoCES-2026. Plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, falsification, inappropriate authorship, and other forms of academic misconduct are strictly prohibited.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality, accuracy, and integrity of their work. Any use of copyrighted materials, including figures, tables, or substantial text from other sources, must be properly cited and permitted when necessary.

10. Registration and Payment

Authors of accepted papers must complete registration and payment by 15 September 2026. Papers from authors who do not complete registration by the deadline may not be included in the final conference program or proceedings.
