Peer Review Process

Universal Business and Management Review (UBMAR) applies a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scholarly integrity of all published articles. All manuscripts are evaluated based on academic merit, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, the manuscript is first assessed by the Editorial Office to ensure compliance with the journal’s scope, author guidelines, ethical standards, and similarity screening requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet basic standards may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected at this stage.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. The review process is conducted under a double-blind system, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure impartiality and objectivity.

Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and contribution to the field

  • Theoretical and methodological rigor

  • Validity of data analysis and interpretation

  • Clarity of structure and argumentation

  • Ethical compliance

Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations, which may include:

  • Accept without revision

  • Minor revision

  • Major revision

  • Reject

Editorial Decision

The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ recommendations and the overall academic quality of the manuscript. In cases of conflicting recommendations, an additional reviewer may be appointed.

Revision Process

Authors are required to submit a revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response to reviewers’ comments. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the original reviewers if necessary.

Publication Timeline

UBMAR aims to complete the review, revision, and editorial decision process within approximately three (3) months from submission to final publication, provided that authors respond promptly to revision requests.

The journal does not guarantee acceptance and maintains full editorial independence in all publication decisions.
